7 Genius Ways To Repurpose Content (Bonus Tip)

Updated: Jan 10

Tired of creating new content? Read this article to learn about ways to repurpose content in different ways.

There is too much content available on the internet. You put a keyword in the search box, and Google gives you endless options to select and read. All are different and unique in their own way. At times, when you are working, there is a possibility that you might exhaust your creative juices. You might think this is the limit and you cannot move forward anymore. But what you might not know is that, when you check those articles, many of them are very similar. You might find they are talking about the same thing differently. You might feel that you have read it somewhere, and you are right. You have read it somewhere. That’s called repurposing content.

Repurposing content is the art of using the same thing differently and uniquely. There are too many influences around you that you might clout your judgement and get sucked into the whirlpool, and I want to tell you that it is all right. There is no harm in repurposing content as long as you know how to do it.

And that is exactly what I’ll show you: How to repurpose content in different formats.

Tweet Away

Yes, Twitter is mostly used by Celebrities and Politicians, but it is still one of the most prominent Social Media platforms. The character limit for Twitter is 280 characters. Even if you’re not active on Twitter, you can still use it once in a while. You have a thought in your mind that you know you can talk more about. Put 2-3 lines of it in a tweet and share it on Twitter.

Screenshot and Post of Instagram

Now that your tweet is posted, take a screenshot of it. Don’t post the whole screenshot. Crop and keep only the relevant parts. Now share it on Instagram with some more explanation in the captions. Use pointers, Emojis, paragraphs—whatever you feel is right for that piece.

Elaborate more on a LinkedIn post

Now give it a professional approach and share the same content on LinkedIn. Support it with a personal experience, a case study, or more research on that topic. See if you can find something new in it. If yes, don’t copy-paste that. (That’s a big no-no.) Present it from your perspective. Why do you think this way, and what is your state of mind behind it?

Share on Facebook with a different angle

Now that a professional approach has been taken, it’s time for a quirky or fun approach. Take that piece of content and give it a humorous tone. Add something witty to it. You can also support it with A GIF or a Meme.

Write an article about it

As you have now used the same content in a short, long, informative, and humorous way, you now have all the ingredients you need to write a detailed post on it. Start with a simple introduction of two paragraphs and then write 7–10 pointers on it. Elaborate on each point with 5-7 lines. Your article will be between 800 and 1000 words. Now, I know it’s not on par with SEO guidelines, but it’s a start.

Create a carousel with different points

Your article is ready with pointers. Make a carousel with those points. Keep the first slide as the heading, directing your audience to other slides. Put a call to action on the last slide. Write some description of the article in the caption.

Create a Reel or IGTV video

I know a lot of you guys are not that comfortable getting in front of the camera. But I will say that you should try it out. If you don’t like it, you always have the option of going back. Record yourself with the points of your article. Keep it short and straightforward—under 30 seconds for Reel and 90 seconds for IGTV. Give it a nice heading and a caption with relevant hashtags. You can also add music and other effects.

Tip: Try Inshot for editing your videos. I’ve heard it’s really good.

Additional Tip: Pinterest Pin

You can also use Pinterest to Generate traffic to your link. Create a Pinterest cover on Canva. There are many beautiful templates for you to choose from. Create a pin on Canva, give it a title, and write a description for it. You can select the Heading and Caption from your article as well. Just modify and customise it a bit. Include hashtags and keywords that people will use to search for. And upload it.
